Teenager Michael Brown’s death at the hands of officer Darren Wilson in the Canfield Green Apartment complex in Ferguson, Missouri prompted widespread protests, attracted global media attention and highlighted the disparities between local police departments and the communities they serve in multiracial communities across America. Yet the coverage rarely focused on the physical space at the scene of the shooting. The goal of Ferguson Firsthand is to give the public the opportunity to visit that scene, review the evidence for themselves and reach their own conclusions. The evidence is based on the accounts given to media outlets as well as from released grand jury statements. Eyewitness locations have been approximated according to available evidence.
